San Fran Voice Zodiac Information

The time of year when you were born says a surprising amount about you.  Of course, a lot of factors weigh in to the unique traits that make you who you are, from your birth order ranking to your education, but your birth sign can tell you a good amount about the starting point for all of the other things.  The information here is just a pinch of what can be learned about your zodiac sign.  You’ll also find info on some of the famous people who share your sign and a SFV pick as to which SF landmark best sums up your character.  Follow the links at the end to get additional information and make sure to check out San Fran Voice every Sunday to get your weekly horoscope from your favorite local psychic.

Pisces (February 20 – March 20):  Pisces is the deepest of the water signs and truly embodies that old saying, “still waters run deep”.  You can’t ever tell what’s happening under the – usually aesthetically pleasing – surface of the Pisces but you can always bet that there’s something there.  Inclinations tend to be towards the artsy and emotional sides of life and relationships tend to be steady because of the Pisces ability to empathize with almost anyone.  However, close relationships take a long time to build up so remember to invest in those you care about.

A smattering of famous Pisces:  Botticelli, Anais Nin, Michelangelo

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Pisces: Ocean Beach.  Enjoyed by all, this stretch of ocean has many different layers to its personality and gets the imagination going in that way that Pisces is known for.

Aries (March 21 – April 20):  Aries is the leader of all of the fire spirits; you can tell one at first glance by their passionate nature and ability to own a room when they walk into it.  Usually, they want to forge ahead in their own way and so sometimes take a circuitous route to leadership roles, working independently as much as possible.  The social Aries burns bright and loves with all of the Aries heart in intense bursts.  Your relationships are likely to benefit from learning how to let some of that love smolder a bit instead of just flashing and then dying out.

A smattering of famous Aries:  Jane Goodall, Milan Kundera, Leonardo da Vinci

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Aries:  Coit Tower.  It’s the first thing that you see coming in to the city from the East Bay and it’s a commemorative tower to the firemen of the city.  Like you, it does its own thing but demands attention while doing it.

Taurus (April 21 – May 21):  The Taurus personality tends to be one which likes physical activity, although the Taurus also likes to be the center of attention so he or she must have a pivotal role in any team sports in order to enjoy them.  Sometimes your need for attention can be demanding on those who love you but your intense loyalty keeps people interested in knowing you for a long time to come.

A smattering of famous Taurus:  Shakespeare, Jack Nicholson, Martha Graham

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Taurus: The Golden Gate Bridge … or more specifically, the bicycle tours and walking tours that go over the bridge.  Everyone gets physical when they come to see this landmark.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21):  The thing for which Geminis are all known is their dual nature – there are two sides to every Gemini and you will spend much of your life trying to balance them out.  The way this manifests itself is in a constant need for new activity.  When any one thing becomes your focus of attention for too long, you start battling with yourself about it, so jumping from thing to thing has the interesting effect of helping you feeling stable.  Keeping multiple different social groups tends to help with this.

A smattering of famous Gemini: John Wayne, Judy Garland, Paul Gauguin, Che Guevara

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Gemini: Golden Gate Park.  There are so many different things to do in this urban retreat – from watching the bison roam in the center of the park to checking out the latest exhibit at DeYoung Museum.  Even you will not get bored here.

Cancer (June 22-July 22):  Cancer tends to be something of a homebody personality.  This tends to be an arguable point among San Franciscan Cancers because many of you have moved here from other places, but take a look at why you moved and what effort you’ve put in to making your new home feel permanent and you’ll see that your home is important to you, even if you make a new one now and then.  Keeping connections with loved ones over time and distance will help make wherever you travel feel safe.

A smattering of famous Cancers: George Orwell, Bill Cosby, Princess Diana

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Cancer: Chinatown.  The sense of community that is felt all throughout this section of San Francisco is the kind of feeling that you need to have in your life no matter where you end up.

Leo (July 23 – August 23):  Leos are one of the vainest signs in the zodiac.  Aries might like attention but they don’t often care what others think about them.  And Libra may want eyes on him but he doesn’t care about people’s perception beyond the superficial.  You, on the other hand, want more than attention – you want respect.  Luckily, the Leo personality is designed to roar big and you can usually get the attention and then follow through with your actions to earn that respect you so desire.  Your greatest relationship trait is loyalty although your fierce need for independence can sometimes be a challenge to that.

A smattering of famous Leos:  Mae West, Carlos Santana, Amelia Earhart, Napoleon

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Leo: The Ferry Building.  People flock from all over to see this landmark and it reeks of importance without being too ostentatious.

Virgo (August 22 – September 22):  You’re an interesting breed Virgo, because you tend to do a whole lot of thinking but not really in a dreamy sort of way.  You tend to overanalyze things and really prefer life when it is planned out and stable.  At the same time, you like to shake it up a bit with the occasional burst of spontaneous fun.  Keeping a strong, intimate group of friends around you who will support your occasional flings with danger is the best way to treat yourself well.

A smattering of famous Virgos: Mother Teresa, Greta Garbo, Sean Connery

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Virgo: Lombard Street.  It’s just a road and it’s totally stable for driving but it’s “The Crookedest Street In The World” and gives you just that bit of crazy fun that suits your style.

Libra (September 24 – October 23): If there is a mirror in a storefront on the street, Libra will be looking in to it as you pass by.  It’s in your nature to adore beautiful things and to prize your own beauty above all.  If you can capture that beauty and channel it into art, or even into life in general, you can create higher aesthetic standards for the world around you.  When treated right, this interest in beauty can outweigh some of your flaws, the worst of which is an often-intense need to discuss every issue until everyone in the room thinks that your way is the right way.

A smattering of famous Libras: Gandhi, Brigitte Bardot, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Faulkner

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Libra: The radio tower atop Twin Peaks.  I know, you don’t want to hear that because it’s not pretty at all.  But this is what can happen when your need to get attention is just too overwhelming; it can be seen from everywhere in the city.

Scorpio (October 24 – November 22):  Scorpio is a personality which can usually see straight to the heart of any situation, analyze it immediately and make a decision how to act.  On bad days, this can mean that the intense Scorpio is overwhelmed by the world and suffers in the throes of depression.  But on most days, this just means that the Scorpio sees life for what it is and takes it with a grain of salt.  A love of passion can balance out the darker sides of the Scorpio personality so keeping life fresh and exciting is the way for the Scorpio to go.

A smattering of famous Scorpios: Picasso, Whoopi Goldberg, Georgia O’Keefe

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Scorpio: The nightlife.  It’s not a landmark but it’s a fact of the city and it makes sense for the well-balanced Scorpio.  There are many different ways it can be approached but the best is always with passion.

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 21):  Sagittarius has an insatiable urge to know everything about the world.  You don’t always satisfy this urge but it can be seen in your love of travel, your desire to push your own boundaries (and the boundaries of others) and your random assortment of all kinds of different knowledge derived from many different places.  The key to keeping life exciting without it being too risky is to find a partner or close group of friends who you can always count on to be supportive of your crazier endeavors.

A smattering of famous Sagittarius: Tina Turner, Joe DiMaggio, Mark Twain, Bette Midler

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Sagittarius:  The public transportation.  Sure, you hate it sometimes, but you can get to anywhere that you want to go using multiple modes of convenient transportation.  From the heart of the city to out past the cows, SF transport will help you to not be limited here at home.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 20):  The issue at the heart of every Capricorn life is the issue of power.  Granted, power is at the heart of all human issues but Capricorn sees this and makes it the primary focus of most relationships.  Don’t try and fight it; acknowledge that power matters to you and determine how you can best make use of this knowledge to live a full, happy life without undermining your relationships with others.

A smattering of famous Capricorns:  Mary Tyler Moore, J.R.R. Tolkein, Anthony Hopkins,

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Capricorn: Civic Center, where all of the big decisions get made, inside of a really pretty architectural package that demands some respect.

Aquarius (January 21 – February 19): The greatest Aquarius trait is the ability to live and let live.  This is perfect for the San Franciscan Aquarius who is able to look at the diverse modes of life around the city and be accepting of everyone’s right to just be who they are.  The negative side of this is that you tend to have a really hard time understanding others who don’t see this truth the same way that you do.  As a result, rejection of who you are or arguments against your beliefs tend to be confusing and hurtful for you.  Having individuals close to you who share your open mind is the best way to approach your life.

A smattering of famous Aquarius: Geena Davis, Virginia Woolf, Oprah, Lewis Carroll

The San Francisco landmark that makes sense for Aquarius:  Haight Ashbury, where everyone in the hippie days could just be and be left alone.
