San Francisco Quote of the Day

San Francisco inspires everyone to have something to say about it …

Today’s SF quote is … about summer weather in San Francisco – poetry by a meteorologist.

During most of the summer, chilly Pacific air shrouded in fog invades San Francisco Bay; average highs in June and July barely reach 70 degrees. Heated air over the Central Valley rises, drawing this chilly fog in. But, as fall nears, the sun’s rays no longer heat the Valley very much and less air rises. The cool ocean fog slows its inland march, allowing sunshine to bring the real feel of summer to the City by the Bay.”
