San Francisco Quote of the Day

San Francisco is an inspirational place that lends itself to many conversations and writings. San Fran Voice brings you quotes from all kinds of creative people … as well as the average Joe … to share their insights into the city.
Today’s SF quote is … from a Yahoo! traveler.
“The best thing about San Francisco is the people, who generally are the friendliest, most colorful, uninhibited, and straightforward people I’ve found in this country of ours. Come with an open mind, a primed taste-bud, and an eye for beauty, and you’ll have the time of your life. But be warned, you may …read more

Recommended Event: Art opening for Clint Imboden

The artist reception for that show is about to happen, this Friday, June 29. The exhibition is titled Found (a reference to the found / collected materials used in the art) and is part of Exhibitions at One Union.  …read more

SF Music Speaks: an interview with guitarist James Patick Regan

James Patrick Regan is a Bay Area guitarist who has been leaving his musical fingerprints on the local music scene since his first band, St. Laurent, first got big back in the eighties. Currently, he’s got good gigs going with his low key band, Urban Slack, and is also having a lot of fun with his new surf punk band, The Deadly (or potentially harmful) Surfinatics. But his work with St. Laurent isn’t all in the past; the band has recently come back together and recorded a new CD which James says is reminiscent of the sounds of San Francisco …read more

San Francisco Quote of the Day

San Francisco inspires everyone to have something to say about it …
Today’s SF quote is … from the lyrics to the Sanford Clark song Streets of San Francisco, pointing out how desperately people will act to get here if they must.
“Walking in the streets of sunny San Francisco without a single care
I’d like to fly there in a jet
But if I have to walk I’ll get there yet
There ain’t nothing mortal that can make me change my mind you can bet
If my feet don’t fail me and I my thumb will pay the fare
Won’t be long ’til you will find …read more
