San Francisco What To Read
There’s a plethora of different places where you can get read about life in San Francisco. There are magazines, blogs, newspapers and books where you can get information about everything in San Francisco from the specific to the general. Of course, San Fran Voice is a good place to start, but here are some of my other favorite things to read to get information about the city.
- San Francisco magazine: When I want to indulge in learning about the finer things in San Francisco, this is the place to get the info. California is another good magazine for this indulgence, although it’s not San Francisco specific.
- 7×7: If you want to know about people in SF, this is a good place to get your info.
- A Writer’s San Francisco by Eric Maisel: One author’s collection of essays related to living life and writing in San Francisco. Includes excellent illustrations.
- Theatres of San Francisco, an Images of America book
- Off The Wall: Psychedlic Rock Posters from San Francisco featuring the kind of posters you can only hope to come across in San Francisco stores like Amoeba in The Haight
- SF Weekly
- San Francisco Downtown
- Foghorn, because college newspapers sometimes have their fingers on the pulse of the city in a way no other paper does
- Metroblogging San Francisco because I’m a biased contributor
These are just the current picks as to what I’m reading about the city; an update list will follow in the future.
